Honest Advice from a Firm You Can Trust The Do's and Don'ts of Rare Coin Buying Inside This Report • Buy From People You Can Trust • Insist on a Nationally Known Coin Dealer • Moneyback Guarantee is of Utmost Important Since 1989, Austin Rare Coins has served rare coin collectors, investors, and fellow coin dealers. Our firm has proudly established a reputation as a leading precious metals and rare coins company. Our membership of the Professional Coin Grading Service, the Numismatic Guaranty Corp. and the American Numismatic Association reflect our desire to live up to the highest industry standards. Our list of "Do's and Don'ts on this page are not criticisms of others, but warnings to collectors on how you can avoid rip-offs, problem coins, and overpaying for coins. HERE'S OUR LIST OF DO'S AND DON'TS: 1. Don't buy online from kids, jewelry shops, or people you can't trust. Anyone can take your order and charge your credit card, but some may never ship your coins at all. Local pawn shops and flea markets are just as bad. They often don't play fair, they sell you bad or cleaned coins. If you're selling, they almost always offer you far below market prices. Almost as bad, the whole bunch are unlikely to be there to buy your coins years from now when you're ready to sell. 2. Don't buy coins at auctions. Ebay approached our firm and recommended we sell our overstocked items, excess inventory, and junk coins that we don't sell to our Preferred Customers. Typically, those are ugly, common, ordinary coins that no one would buy if they saw them in person. We do not offer coins like that, because we never buy them in the first place. All of our coins are individually hand-picked for outstanding eye appeal. We can't imagine being so desperate as to dump off junk coins on an unsuspecting public at an Ebay auction. Watch out! There's no Santa Claus in the rare coin business. Nobody gives away rare and valuable coins! 3. Please avoid little one man coin shops. Many people masquerade as coin experts when they know little to nothing about the business. Buying from an experienced, nationally known coin dealer with a multi-million dollar coin inventory like Austin Rare Coins just makes sense. In 2006, we celebrate our 17th year of incorporation. Each week our Austin Buying Trust sees millions of dollars of coins. They attend just about every major conference, auction, and certified coin show. They know the market, pricing, and often have first pick of the rarest and best quality coins in private showings. 4. Do buy from a volume dealer. Austin Rare Coins and Bullion has a significant inventory available to us on a given day. We let you choose from a wide selection of coins, prices and grades. Most importantly, we have qualified Rare Coin Specialists in the U.S. coin market who can answer all your questions. 5. Do get a Money Back Guarantee. Insist on buying from coin dealers who back each sale with solid "Money Back Guarantees." At Austin Coin Collecting Society we want you to be 100% satisfied and back every sale with a 14-day Money Back Guarantee. We even refund your shipping charges both ways to make sure you are satisfied. Our brief list of do's and don'ts could save you hundreds, even thousands of dollars. We hope you take them to heart and find one of the many reputable and honorable coin dealers so that you can enjoy the hobby of coin collecting for many years to come.
